VIRGINIA TEAGUE HANDWEAVER
Virginia produces a range of historically accurate fabrics dating from both the Medieval period and the 19th Century.
When Virginia started asking the University of Wales about courses on Medieval textiles she discovered that it did not exist. As a result of these enquiries a module entitled 'Medieval Woven Textiles' now exists in the Department of History and Welsh History at Bangor. Virginia and her Tutor, Caryl Dane, devised the course and Virginia has now completed it. The resulting portfolio contains copies of fabrics dating from the 8th to the 14th Centuries.
These fabrics can be reproduced in Museum Quality (ie totally accurate, handspun, vegetable dyed and handwoven), or in a quality more suitable for the budgets of film companies and re-enactors!
The 19th Century fabrics are accurate reproduction of samples of fabrics held by Bangor Museum, North Wales.
